Not on The Road Again.

Friday June 14th was our last day for The Clay Teacher for this year. We have a few summer jobs, but we are done for a while. Every weekday morning we would get up, load the car with all the clay and supplies for the day and get …on the road again…. cue Willie Nelson here…. It is a fun job, but by the end I was not the keen to get … on the road again. The last day we went out with a bang.  We got up at 5am, drove 2 hours, and did four workshops back to back.  I don't know what the teacher was thinking, but she booked us for 6 hours of workshops, 156 kids,  without any break at all and no turn around time between.  It was a little intense, but we did it.  The school must have liked us because before we got out of town, we got the email that she had gone online and booked us again for next year, but this time for 2 days and more grades. We will just make sure that is a break somewhere in there for a quick lunch.

When we got home Friday and didn't even unload the SUV that night. We just got, I threw on a frozen pizza and called it a day and a year. It was our best year yet as The Clay Teacher.  We have the workshops down to an art. We can get some great work from the students. Here are some Treasure Keepers for Mom mad by the Kinders at Legal School.

We are not taking the summer off, far from it.  I got another mug order yesterday from client I have been making corporate mugs for years.  He wants more of these.

We want to do more video this summer and add to our Youtube channel.  We want to show some painting tips for the Air Dry Projects. We have a lot of followers on the pottery making videos and it time we added a few more.  Our first one will be casseroles and bean pots.

We have The Edmonton Folk Festival to prepare for.  We always are in the vendors tent and what a wonderful venue.  The people who put it on, the vendors, and the weekend of music make it one of the highlights of our summer.

I am looking forward to this summer.  We also have trip to New Mexico in the works.
